Collaboration and Smart Growth Key Elements for Denver-based Choozle’s Success

The mountains and outdoor lifestyle drew Andrew Fischer, a seasoned digital media entrepreneur from San Francisco and co-founder of Choozle to Colorado, but the collaborative tech industry here was the catalyst for Fischer calling the state home.

Choozle was one of the first members of Galvanize, a co-working network of urban campuses in Denver where students and entrepreneurs access the skills, knowledge, and network they need for their tech startups.

Through their membership with Galvanize, Fischer and co-founder & CPO Jeffery Finch, made invaluable connections, including a partnership with Colorado-based data company iBehavior that assisted with the platform’s initial design.

Choozle provides a programmatic platform that leverages detailed consumer data to power real-time advertising campaigns across display, video, mobile & social mediums—all from a single, simple interface. Choozle is changing the way marketers of all shapes and sizes are buying media and interacting with consumer data.

Choozle has experienced tremendous growth in the past five years since its start at Galvanize in 2012. Choozle now has a posh new downtown location on Curtis Street, and has grown from 2 employees to a 40-person team. Choozle’s marketing director and second employee, Megan Sullivan-Jenks, says Choozle often hires graduates from Galvanize.

“It’s a great success story for talent in Colorado,” says Sullivan-Jenks. “They have the skills we need and the drive we look for.” Choozle is also participating in the Colorado Existing Industry Job Training grant program. By funding job training, the program increase transferable job skills that support both the company’s competitiveness and enhance worker’s resumes and long-term employment opportunities.

Sullivan-Jenks added that Choozle is planning to grow its staff in the coming year to service its growing client list of 3000+ advertisers and maintain its high quality customer service. In February, Choozle won the 2017 Stevie Bronze winner for Customer Service Department of the Year in the 11th annual Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service.

“Our success is a combination of the industry quickly growing, us finding our niche in the right industry and smart tactics in scalability,” Sullivan-Jenks said.

Choozle has secured over $6M in funding and expanded nationally, and will be adding a presence in London in 2017, while maintaining its headquarters in Denver.

“We plan to always have our headquarters in Colorado – we love the culture,” said Sullivan-Jenks. “Colorado offers a highly desirable place to live so quality talent wants to move here, which is good for business.”

Before Choozle, Fischer co-founded and served as President of RGM Alliance, a premium ad network reaching 120 million US consumers. Prior to RGM, Fischer built the business development team as an early employee with Passenger, a provider of consumer-powered online communities for top brands. He holds a bachelors degree from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School of Business. Andrew resides in Denver, Colorado with his wife and infant son, and they all spend as much time at high elevations as possible.
