Study: Arts pumps $150 million a year into Pikes Peak region’s economy

According to the bidecenial Arts and Economic Prosperity study, nonprofit arts and cultural groups contributed more than $150 million to the Pikes Peak region’s economy in 2015, creating more than 5,000 jobs in the process. The study also found that 82.6 percent of local arts and cultural events attendees hailed from the Colorado Springs area, while half of those from outside the area traveled specifically to attend an event there. The spending of these attendees generated $12.3 million in state and local tax revenue.
