First Southwest Community Fund begins microloan program

| News

The 501c3 nonprofit, First Southwest Community Fund, was one of three awardees to receive funds from the Office of Economic Development and International Trade to create a revolving loan fund. They received $400,000 for the fund, and in all likelihood will receive an additional $100,000 next year. The fund has dedicated a portion of these funds to their New Pioneers Microloan program, a loan program in Pagosa Springs and the San Luis Valley that provides $5,000 to $15,000 to small businesses.
