Exempt Passenger Carrier Registration

Businesses that transport passengers for-hire by automobile, bus, van, etc., must obtain the appropriate authority from the PUC.

Interstate motor carriers must also register in the Unified Carrier Registration Agreement (UCR).

Insurance filing requirements:  Motor Vehicle Liability – Form E.

Fingerprint based criminal history records check is required for most drivers.

Fees: One-time application fees vary; annual vehicle identification fee varies year to year.
